數位人文與數位典藏,雖是近幾年才在人文研究領域新興起的話題。但在佛學研究的領域之中,早在1990年代初期就已經開始進行佛教典籍的數位化工作。歷經超過20年的累積,佛學數位研究資源已發展成為十分全面的佛教數位研究資源網絡。
本次講座中,法鼓文理學院圖書資訊館洪振洲先生,將重點式的介紹臺灣近20年來所發展佛學研究數位資源的一系列面向。除了讓圖書館同仁能明瞭佛教數位研究資源的概況外,同時間也讓有興趣致力於發展數位人文研究資源的專家學者,瞭解未來可能的發展方向與潛力。

From Physical Texts to a Unified Digital Resource: Buddhist Archives in Taiwan

 

In recent years, the mission to preserve old texts and manuscripts has taken on a new level with digital tools. Within the field of Buddhist studies, the digitalization of Buddhist texts began in the early 1990s. More than two decades later, the initiative has developed into a comprehensive network of Buddhist digital research resources.

In this webinar, Dr. HUNG Jen Jou, Director of the Library and Information Centre at Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts (DILA), Taiwan will focus on aspects of the development of digital resources for Buddhist studies in Taiwan over the past 20 years. Library professionals, archivists, scholars and those interested in developing digital humanities research resources will appreciate this opportunity to understand the journey of unifying the diverse array of Buddhist texts into an all-encompassing digital resource and learn more about the future direction and potential of digital archives.

洪振洲博士

法鼓文理學院圖書館館長暨佛教學系專任副教授

洪振洲在2006年於台灣科技大學資訊管理系取得博士學位,目前任教於法鼓文理學院佛教學系,為專任副教授,並兼任圖書資訊館館長一職。他的目前參與許多由法鼓法鼓文理學院執行的數位典藏計畫。他的研究興趣包含漢譯佛典作譯者分析、數位典藏專案建構、數位人文研究資源開發與數位文字處理議題。

Dr. HUNG Jen Jou, Associate Professor, Department of Buddhist Studies and Director of the Library and Information Center at Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts (DILA), Taiwan
Dr. HUNG Jen Jou obtained his Ph.D. degree in Information Management from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei in 2006. Also known as Joey, he is currently the Associate Professor in the Department of Buddhist Studies and Director of the Library and Information Center at Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts (DILA), Taiwan. He is actively engaged in a variety of digital archives projects at DILA.His research interests include authorship attribution for ancient Buddhist literature, digital humanities research, digital archival, and digital text processing.Visit his blog at http://joeyhung.info/
